Ballykelly Primary School, Ballykelly, Limavady

Term 1

21st Oct 2020

Mrs McAuley has been so impressed at how well all of our new Primary 1 pupils have settled into the daily routine of 'Big School'. The children come into school with smiles on their faces and are very good at getting all of their belongings organised. The children in Primary 1 are excellent at remembering to wash their hands and like to help to keep everything clean and tidy.

We have been very busy learning numbers within 5, letters s, a, t, p and i and our first set of keywords. We play lots of games in our class and we are very good at turn taking and helping others. We love to sing songs and rhymes in P1 and we are so pleased to have Ms Una back to deliver 'Musical Pathways'. This term we have been enjoying doing lots of our activities outdoors and we have been exploring our Fishmongers' Trail looking for signs of Autumn. The children used natural materials which they found in the forest to make beautiful pictures and they collected lots of Autumn leaves to use in our 'Creative Area'.

The children love 'Learning Through Play' and really enjoyed our Autumn and Halloween themed play areas during the month of October. Lots of spooky potions were made in the water tray and the children also made some yummy Halloween biscuits using playdough. The children were so excited to dress up for our Halloween party and disco and had a brilliant day dancing with their friends.

All of the boys and girls in P1 have worked really hard and deserve a lovely Halloween break. Have fun, take care and stay safe.
