Term 3

21st Jun 2023

We have all been very busy this term in P3/4CL!

After the Easter holidays we started our new topic “Paddington’s Passport” – we all had fun learning about Peru and London.  We had an “I spy London” hunt in our Fishmongers’ Trail as well as celebrating Paddington’s birthday with a party.  We even made marmalade sandwiches and a marmalade cake following Paddington’s Aunt Lucy’s recipe!

In Numeracy we have been learning all about measuring and we have been using metre sticks, rulers, balance scales and measuring jugs in our practical activities.

P3s took part in the Paired Reading programme and we read great books from the library.  There was a brilliant selection of books to buy at the book fair too.  P4s took part in Parental Involvement in Numeracy games and enjoyed a different game to play at home each week.

We have had lots of opportunities to use our creative talents in Art lessons.  We made toucans, created amazing drawings of Paddington and designed birthday banners for Paddington.

In our garden project we planted peas and broccoli.  We loved seeing the beautiful tulips that we had planted in autumn.

We enjoyed racing on our Sports Day and had a super time on our trip to Gortnahey Play park - it was a lovely treat when the ice cream van visited!

Miss Lockington and Mrs Mullan have promised us a party in June because we have all worked very hard this year! We are all looking forward to our summer holidays soon!

Happy holidays from P3/4CL!
