Term 3

27th Jun 2022

It is hard to believe after all that has happened that we are now at the end of the year!

I am SO proud of each and every child in P2JW and how hard they have worked and how much they have grown! This was another busy term with Musical Pathways, Spanish and Gardening. We thoroughly enjoyed our music sessions with Ms Una and learnt lots of new songs and rhymes. In Spanish we were learning the different names for fruit and we were very good at saying if we liked it or not in Spanish. Chris came along and helped us to make some tasty bird feeders using recycled wood, seeds and peanut butter. We also planted lots of strawberries and are enjoying have a taste before the birds get to them!! During the year we made new friends with some of the boys and girls in Faughanvale PS. We made flower beds in each others' schools and enjoyed a great day at Sperrin Fun Farm. This year we had a special celebration for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. We made a lovely flower garden, painted stones, made crowns and had a tea party!

This term we tried out some cardio drumming in the classroom and although it was loud it was lots of fun using pool noodles to drum on the table. In PE we were practising our running, skipping and jumping in preparation for Sports Day. A big well done to everyone for taking part and trying their best on Sports Day. It was also great to have our families back to watch us.

We've all worked very hard at our numeracy and literacy and made fantastic progress at learning our sounds and keywords. We have read lots of books and are now ready for the challenges of learning new things in P3.

We are finishing this term with our Fun Day and we are so excited! We have bouncy castles, an obstacle course, Scavenger Hunt in the Fishmongers' Trail and free play all to enjoy with our friends. We are also excited to have a visit from the ice-cream van!

Mrs Whyte and Mrs Bellingham would like to wish all the children and their parents a fantastic summer and look forward to seeing them back in September as P3 boys and girls!
