The links between Ballykelly Primary School and the Fishmongers' Company are historical, educational, and charitable. Ballykelly was established in the 1600s as a "Plantation Village" by the Fishmongers' Company as a principal settlement, and the company continues to maintain a connection through educational partnerships and awards with Ballykelly Primary School. For example, the Fishmongers' Company partnered with the school during a visit from Princess Anne, and students have received awards, such as the Fishmongers' Cup.
