February Fun!

25th Feb 2026

As February arrived, so did lots of toys from Outer Space! 🚀🛸
Our new topic was out of this world and we blasted off into space each day in our classroom rocket. We learned all about astronauts, the planets, and even created our own purple playdough filled with stars and rocket cutters to make moon‑themed creations. We even made some friendly little aliens! 👽✨

At the art table, we were very busy building rockets, jet packs, and flying saucers using lots of junk materials. There was tin foil, shiny paper and sellotape everywhere! We also designed a beautiful night sky using black paper and colourful paint prints. 🎨🌌

On the Interactive Whiteboard, there were lots of exciting space activities to explore. We watched real astronauts walking on the moon and then tried out our own moon‑walking in the role‑play area with our special moon boots. Each day we counted down from 10 and BLASTED OFF into Space! ⭐🔟🚀

Outside, we had a large wooden rocket that we pushed along together as we explored. We also had great fun launching foam rockets as far as we could and practising throwing and catching astronauts in little parachutes. 🌬️🧑‍🚀

Of course, we couldn’t forget February celebrations—especially Valentine’s Day. ❤️ There were hearts all around the nursery! We talked about the people we love and made lots of lovely creations at both the art and writing tables. We even had a special heart‑hug cushion so we could give our friends a warm heart hug each day. 💕🤗

Our Jo Jingles classes came to an end this month. We loved singing and dancing with Stephanie and Jo—and everyone got a goodbye hug from Jo at our final session. 🎶😊

Throughout our Space topic we learned lots of new songs and rhymes. We can now remember some of the planet names, and we’re super at counting back from 10 to BLAST OFF! 🚀✨
