On Monday 25th March Children from P2JM and P2JW took an assembly about Mother's Day. They had invited their parents and were very excited to be speaking.
They told us how Mother's Day was initially called Mother's Work Day and was started by a lady called Anna Jarvis. Her daughter then spoke to lots of important people including President William Woodrow and a special day to celebrate Mothers was created.
We found out that Mothers are mentioned in the bible and it's one of the commandments to 'Honour your Father and Mother' because it 'pleases the Lord.'
Everyone spoke really well and sang their songs so nicely. P2 especially enjoyed having juice and biscuits with their parents after they were done!
