Term 3 - End of P3

6th Jun 2025

It’s hard to believe we are coming to the end of another busy and exciting term in P3TB!

In Maths, we’ve been exploring measures — weighing, comparing lengths, and discovering just how much different containers can hold. There’s been lots of practical learning (and more than a few surprised faces along the way!).

In World Around Us, we finished our Paddington’s Passport topic, exploring countries around the world, and wrapped up our Famous Five topic, learning about some truly inspirational people from history.

Literacy has been full of imagination this term! We’ve enjoyed writing our own stories — Little Red Riding Hood was a particular favourite, with some brave grannies and more than a few cheeky wolves making their way into our writing.

During PE, we’ve loved trying out new team games. It’s been great to see the children working together, building their teamwork skills, and having lots of fun in the process.

In the Forest, we linked our learning to our core book Look Up! by designing and launching our own rockets — there was some fantastic creative thinking and problem solving on show! We also made ear trumpets linked to our work on Alexander Graham Bell — the children were fascinated to learn about sound and communication in such a fun way.

We’ve also really enjoyed our Spanish lessons with Rebecca — the children have loved learning new words and phrases and trying them out with great enthusiasm!

One of the highlights of the term was our school trip to the Ulster American Folk Park. The children had a brilliant time exploring the museum's immersive exhibits, walking through traditional Ulster cottages, boarding a full-size emigrant ship, and discovering life in pioneer America. It was a fantastic way to bring our learning to life and sparked lots of great discussions back in the classroom.

And finally, we’ve had a wonderful time finishing the year with Miss Una in Musical Pathways — the children always look forward to these sessions and it’s been a lovely way to end our term.

Well done P3TB — what a super term of learning, laughter, and fun!
