Term 3
P2 have had a fun filled and busy 3rd term. They enjoyed a trip to Lurgybrack Farm, ice-cream, a disco and lots of fun outside!
Our topic for this term was 'Ticket to Ride' and we also looked at lifecycles. We were very fortunate to have a pair of wagtails make not just 1 but 2 nests outside our classroom. It was so interesting to see the eggs, then the baby chicks. We watched the chicks grow their feathers and then fly away! We also enjoyed having caterpillars in our classroom again and are really good at talking about the different stages of their lifecycle. It was exciting to release the butterflies in our planters. During our time in the Fishmongers' trail we visited the pond and saw the frogspawn and then the tadpoles. It's been amazing to see in real life all the different stages.
As part of our topic we looked at different ways we can travel and journeys we take to and from school as well as into town and further afield. We went down into the village and carried out a traffic survey, recording all the different vehicles that passed by using a tally. We were very surprised to see how much traffic there was passing through.
Musical Pathways and Spanish continued this term and it was so nice to have Ms Una and Rebecca facilitate these lessons. We enjoyed learning songs and rhymes, keeping a steady beat and learning about long and short notes. In Spanish we had lots of fun with the Fruita song and being able to ask for different fruits.
We have had a great year and it's hard to believe the boys and girls are ready for P3! Mrs Whyte, Mrs Bellingham, Laura and Poppy would like to wish everyone a lovely summer and to thank all the parents for their support throughout the year. Have lots of fun over the summer!
